Re: Summer Basketball 2009
Enclosed is information to update you on the upcoming summer basketball activities. We are hoping for maximum participation from all players as we look to build on our successes from this past season.
Again this summer, you must have a current physical (remember they are now good for two years) and a parent permission form that states you are able to participate in the summer. For a majority of the players this requirement has already been met. New players need to check their status with Coach Sears.
If you have not confirmed your summer status with Coach Sears, please do so as soon as possible. For those who have committed, please remember to let us know if you won’t be able to attend a scheduled event, so we can guarantee a full lineup.
Please note that games will be played at various sites, pleas check the schedule. VArsity league games will be played at Auburn High School (not Auburn Mountain-View). We will assist in transportation, but it is the responsibility of the player to coordinate a ride and bring a ferry ticket.
Practices will be held at the VHS gym (unless noted). Times are noted on the calendar (also attached). Additional practices and small group workouts may be scheduled depending on need and interest. Make arrangements with Coach Sears to take advantage of extra gym time.
Team Camp registration forms are included in this packet. The Camp will be held at Central Washington University (Ellensburg) from July 6-9. Registrations are due back to Coach Sears no later than June 16. Physical forms are required, and I will obtain these from the school. All the registrations must be sent in together, so please don’t wait until the last minute. Scholarships are available. Contact Coach Sears if you have a need.
Fees for summer basketball will be determined by number of participants in each league, tournament, or event (total cost of each activity will be divided by the number of participants to determine each person’s share). Scholarships are available.
Again, we will be helping with the K-2 Fun Run (7/18) as a fundraiser. Please plan on attending.
Remember, summer basketball is not required to play on the high school team, but is offered as an opportunity for you to improve as an individual and for us to improve as a team.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call. Coach Sears: (253) 223-2662 Coach Youman: 463-3108 Coach Hoffman: 380-2717
Make it a great summer!
